A Bird-Watching Day to Remember
Bearry was keen on photography, so he joined a bird-watching workshop with Lexi. They met a guide who shared her knowledge of local birds. She said, "Keep in mind that birds need space." They watched through binoculars and kept the birds at a distance. Back at the visitor center, Bearry used a keyboard to label his photos. Lexi helped him keep things in order by sorting the photos. "I want to keep a diary in English," Bearry said. He wrote about the guide who helped them. Lexi gave Bearry a small bird pin. It was a keepsake that reminded him of the day. Before leaving, they exchanged email addresses with the guide. "Let’s keep in touch," Lexi said.

keyboard

knowledge

NASA reported in May 2026 that more than 650 volunteers helped build scientific knowledge through research papers.

keep a diary

NASA's Space Cloud Watch asks volunteers to photograph rare night clouds and report each sighting, much like keeping a diary of the sky.

keep in mind

In its January 2026 guidance, Grand Canyon National Park asked visitors to keep in mind that bison need at least 30 meters of space.

National Park Service · 2026-01-21
原文How to View and Photograph Wildlife

keep things in order

In March 2026, Apple said its Reminders app can sort action items automatically, which helps users keep things in order.

keep in touch

NASA’s project page offered monthly email updates so volunteers could keep in touch with its citizen science program.

keep your distance

Grand Canyon National Park’s January 2026 message was simple: keep your distance from bison, at least 30 meters.

National Park Service · 2026-01-21
原文How to View and Photograph Wildlife

1. You want to remember a trip. What can you keep?
2. Which sentence naturally asks a friend to stay connected?
3. Which sentence correctly describes a helpful guide?
4. Which sentence means the photos stay in the right sequence?
  • 1. C — keepsake
  • 2. A — keep in touch
  • 3. D — who 已是 helped 的主詞,不能再重複 she。
  • 4. B — in order 指依順序排好;in mind 指記住。

人 + who + 動詞
The guide who helped us was kind.
B. 用 which/that 說明是哪個東西
物 + which/that + 子句
This is the keyboard that I use.
C. 關係詞作主詞,不再重複 he/she/it
人 + who + V(不可省略 who)
The guide who helped us was kind.
(不重複 she)
物 + (that/which) + S + V
This is the keyboard I use.
(不重複 it)
人 + (who) + S + V + with
She is the guide I worked with.
Lexi gave me a pin, which made me smile.
Lexi

who 指人,which 指物;限定子句中 that 可代替兩者。看描述中缺的是主詞還是受詞:who helped us 缺動作執行者,who 不能省;I use the keyboard 中的物已移到前面,受詞關係詞可省。 介系詞放前面時用 with whom/in which,不能用 with that/in that 來替代這類關係詞;逗點後的關係詞也不能省略或改成 that。

who helped us 整組描述 the guide The guide / who / helped us / was kind.
  • This is the keyboard. I use it. This is the keyboard that I use.
  • She is the guide with whom I worked. She is the guide I worked with.

The guide helped us 裡,who 取代主詞 The guide,所以 who 後面不要再加 she。

The guide who she helped us was kind.
Bearry:The guide who she helped us was kind.
✗Bearry
“Who” already replaces “she”. Don’t use both.
Lexi:“Who” already replaces “she”. Don’t use both.
Lexi
So “who” does the helping?
Bearry:So “who” does the helping?
Bearry
Yes. Say: The guide who helped us was kind.
Lexi:Yes. Say: The guide who helped us was kind.
Lexi
The guide who helped us was kind.
Bearry:The guide who helped us was kind.
✓Bearry
Perfect! “Who helped us” describes the guide.
Lexi:Perfect! “Who helped us” describes the guide.
Lexi
